Dr. Matt Brown-Ruegg

Matt Brown-Ruegg, D.C

Doctor of Chiropractic

What do you do at Hillclimb? I partner with patients to restore as much joint function and movement as possible to help people feel, move, work and live better.

Why do you do what you do? Chiropractic is my passion because I love being able to improve the quality of people’s lives.  Our health is based on how well we eat, move and think and if your spinal joints don’t work correctly, you can’t move well.  I restore proper joint function and help people move better to live healthier, happier lives which is very rewarding.

Hometown: I was born in Portland, Oregon.  I have very fond memories of the city and my childhood there.

If you could be a super hero, what super power would you have? Boy that’s a tough one.  Having a young boy who is really into super heroes I want to choose wisely.  Superman is my default choice as he can fly and is super strong, but having Spiderman’s ability to swing from building to building would make my commute fun.

When I’m not in the office you can find me… playing with my wife and kids and going to different play sets. We are still searching Seattle and Bellevue for the best and fastest slide, so let me know your favorite.

What is your guilty pleasure? If I had to pick one it would be baked goods… yes well we all know that they are not good for us.  But mmmm… they sure taste good in moderation.

What is the greatest value that guides your life?  Why? Probably the thing that guides my life is being a good role model.  This includes being a good husband, father, teacher and doctor.

Jeri Davis

Jeri Davis

Billing Manager

What do you do at Hillclimb? I act as a liaison between the patient and thier insurance company. I focus on the insurance so that they can focus on their care and get the most out of their benefits.

Why do you do what you do? I have seen the benefits of chiropractic care in my life and others and believe that preventative care is the key to living a long healthy life.

Hometown: Fielding, Utah … Yes, there are lots of fields there. I am definitely a farm girl at heart.

If you could be a super hero, what super power would you have? High speed cleaning capabilities. I have a husband and two small children … enough said.

When I’m not in the office you can find me… Baking, reading magazines, playing sudoku, and road tripping with the family.

What are you afraid of? Not living life to its fullest.

What is your guilty pleasure? Food magazines & HBO.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Argentina and Spain are next on my list.

What is the greatest value that guides your life?  Why? I try to live my life treating others the way I want to be treated. My Dad told me this one million times. I think he was on to something.

Patient Services

What do you do at Hillclimb? I am here to help Dr. Brown-Ruegg run a smooth and efficient office so we can provide the best service possible to our patients.

Why do you do what you do? I love being part of a team that strives to help people live better lives.

Hometown: Riverside, California.

If you could be a super hero, what super power would you have? To be able to fly; it looks like a lot of fun!

When I’m not in the office you can find me…at the beach with my husband, in the gym or walking around Seattle enjoying life in the city.

What are you afraid of? I am afraid of the forest and many of the creatures it hides.

What is your guilty pleasure? Ice cream and chocolate bars.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? The south of France.

What is the greatest value that guides your life? Why? To live my life with integrity. At the end of the day I want to be happy with who I am and the decisions I have made.

Crystal Mappala

Crystal Mappala, LMP

Licensed Massage Practioner

What do you do at Hillclimb? I’m a Massage Therapist specializing in treatment massage and relaxation.

Why do you do what you do? I am very passionate about massage and how it is very beneficial to healthier living.

Hometown: Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska.

If you could be a super hero, what super power would you have? Power of flight – to travel anywhere at anytime.

When I’m not in the office you can find me… At the gym doing Muy Thai or at the park being a nanny or at home doing/creating art.

What are you afraid of? Spiders … after two bites I try to avoid them as much as possible.

What is your guilty pleasure? “Quality” Reality TV … always interesting to watch how others live or act in certain situations.

What is the greatest value that guides your life? Why?  Be true to yourself. It is important to accept yourself as you really are, not how others think you should be.

Patient Services

What do you do at Hillclimb? Communicate with patient and potential patients about what is going on here.

Why do you do what you do? I like connecting dots.

  • Connecting people who can benefit from chiropractic with our clinic.
  • Connecting information on moving well to our patients to help them live better.
  • Connecting Hillclimb with local non-profits to make our community stronger.

Those are the type of dots I like connecting …

When I’m not in the office you can find me…
Chasing two stinky little kids who are usually dressed in their underwear – although in the summer you’ll find me on hiking trails taking in all that nature has to offer.

What is the best meal you ever cooked? Grilled salmon with Caesar salad – one of my all time favorite meals and always a hit.

What is your guilty pleasure? Survivor. Outwit.Outlive.Outlast. Seriously, anyone else think Russell was robbed?

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? For me, a sunny beach with a few umbrella drinks in my hand and for my soul a trip to Africa (and back to South Africa).

What is the greatest value that guides your life?  Why? Honesty, even when it hurts a little. I like to know the real story, not the one someone else thinks I want to hear, and I think most people in my life do too.
